Home section for wearable exploration (in app purchases)

The Metronome by Soundbrenner is the Nr.1 Metronome app for musicians in the world on both iOS and Android. Besides the Metronome app Soundbrenner sells wearables for musicians, this includes the Soundbrenner Pulse and the Soundbrenner Core. Besides our retail sales, which took hit because of Corona, we wanted to increase sales by utilising our app growth and its user base.

Goals of the project:

  • Increase hardware sales

  • Frictionless buying user experience

  • Solid product explanation

  • Come up with a way to increase ROI without ad spend

Concepting the ideal home page.

The rough initial project flow was decided rapidly for fast implementation

The first UI design v1

The first UI design v1

I decided to add a home page menu bar item. This means that users will first come into the home page before they come to our main feature the Metronome. This makes sure a user has a very high awareness or out hardware products, while the bottom menu still clearly and strongly indicates the Metronome feature.

Home page UI design and mockup

After the UX and flow I decided to create 4 version of the Home section with slight changes so we can learn more about in-app purchases and see which version will get us the highest ROI. The changes are minimal to reduce development effort.

Final Design

The final design is made with minimal development costs in mind while giving the users a nice experience and high ROI. The different elements for the sliders, pictures and reviews are all based on the same elements with the same ratios so development can easily implement all the different variants.

Conclusion

Our app sales went up by an average of 12 hardware sells a day. This is huge for Soundbrenner as this is all profit, as these sales are not based on add spent campaigns.
